After winning the pre-season battle to be the Vikings' punt returner this season, Darius Reynaud lasted just 2 1/2 games in that role before he suffered a nagging hamstring injury that would keep him out of the Vikings next 5 games.--
Fresh off a bye-week the former West Virginia version of Percy Harvin looks to make a return this week against the Detroit Lions. Before going down in Week 3 against San Francisco, Reynaud looked like the best punt returner the Vikings have had in a long time. He averaged 17.3 yards on 7 returns and had come close to breaking two for TD's, a 36 yarder against Cleveland to open the season and a 32 yarder against the 49ers.
--
In his absence, Bernard Berrian initially filled Reynaud's shoes, but averaged more than ten yards less per return than Reynaud. Jaymar Johnson then stepped in for the following 5 games and he also averaged nearly ten yards less than Reynaud with an 8.4 average. Johnson's longest return was 24 yards.
--With a healthy Reynaud back in the line-up for the Vikings, it makes an already explosive team a little more dangerous.
